1. Think of a time when you felt very close to someone outside of your family. On what was this strong connection based? How might such life-giving closeness become a more regular occurrence?
2. Why is it sometimes hard for you to ask for help? Do the same reasons prevent you from asking God more often for help? How might you become more free to ask Jesus for help?
3. Reflecting on things in your life which were or are sad and painful, pray that our merciful and compassionate God will comfort you and fill you with hope that does not disappoint (see Romans 5:1–5).
