Psalm 69 – "Living with Perspective" – Kerry Kaino
1. With what parts of verses 1-3 can you most identify? Think about the imagery of these verses from the perspective of someone who cannot swim. What feelings might that person experience?
2. What key words do you see in this psalm? What message can be heard from those words?
3. In what ways can we understand the psalmist’s feelings being expressed in verses 22-28?
4. In verses 29-36, the psalmist shifts to praise and thanksgiving. There is no indication, though, that the psalmist’s life situation described in verses 1-3 has changed. How is it possible to live in the reality of such tension?
