2. What dynamics do you see in the interaction between Judas and Jesus in verses 48-50?

a. Even accounting for cultural traditions, what do you think of Judas’ identifying Jesus with a “kiss”? (verses 48-49)

b. What point(s) do you think Jesus is making by addressing Judas as “friend”? (verse 50)

3. What themes do you see in Jesus’ words in verses 51-54, especially with its context of imminent arrest and seeming defeat?
