1. A prominent word in verse 1 is “hear”. Why is “hear” such an important word? Why is it also such a difficult word to actually and honestly live?
2. In what ways is it true or not true that “being chosen” brings with it privilege and/or responsibility (verse 2)?
3. Read Deuteronomy 16:20. In what ways is this consistent with what Amos is proclaiming?
4. What past history in our lives informs the substance and gives impact to the present testimonies of our lives? In what ways is that history brought to life in our present living?
