Leviticus 1:1–9 – "Bless the LORD" – J. P. Kang

Discussion Questions:

1. Does the word “sacrifice” have more negative or positive meaning for you? What do you learn about the true nature of sacrifices/sacrificing from this Leviticus passage? How can our sacrifices and offerings become praise and blessing to our Creator?

2. The Bible speaks of the Lord having a sense of smell (e.g., Genesis 8:21) and that our offerings, literal or figurative, can be a pleasing fragrance to him. Reflect on some of the things in your life that you have offered up in faith and for which you have experienced God’s delight in you.

3. What annual, monthly, weekly, and daily rituals do you participate in that help make faithful sense of your life? How has God used formulaic routines, such as the order of worship or patterns of prayer, to cause faith, hope, and love to deepen and grow?
