1. To understand the context of verses 15-18, read all of chapter 1. Put yourself in the place of Naomi, Orpah and Ruth … one at a time. What might have been some of your feelings? Your fears? Your anxieties? Your hopes? Who do you most identify with?
2. What does Ruth’s declaration in verses 16-17 say about her? What do you think might have made Ruth so determined (verse 18)?
