Discussion Questions:
1. How many times do you see the word or theme of “power” in these verses? What powers do you see that are in conflict with each other in these verses? In the world? In what way(s) does God respond to the powers of this world?
2. What do you think of the statement, “Jesus reigns, but sometimes we don’t live like we believe it”?
3. In what ways do we experience the reign of Jesus … that He is “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come” (verse 21)?
4. In what ways do we resist the reign of Jesus in our lives? Why? What are the results when we surrender to His reign? What are some steps that can lead to this kind of surrender?
