Discussion Questions:
1. What do you think motivated the expert in the law as he interacted with Jesus?
2. In verse 27, the Law is summarized with two statements on love … one which focuses on love for God and the other which focuses on love for neighbor. In verse 29, the expert in the law concerns himself with love for neighbor, seemingly giving no further thought to love for God. What do you think about that?
3. Jesus begins His parable by describing the situation of a victim in His parable. Do you know someone who is experiencing suffering and pain her/his lives? Who are they? Are there ways that you can be a neighbor to them?
4. In what ways do we close our eyes to the victims of this world? What might it look like if we were to open our eyes and see, and help and heal?
