1. Why do you think Jesus asks the question “Do you want to be made well?” to the man, instead of just assuming he needed or wanted help? Do you in your life experience such questions that invite deep responses?
2. How does Jesus’s reply, "Stand up, take your mat and walk," exceed your expectations? In what ways has God’s call come to you in ways that seem similarly impossible or too good to be true?
3. What factors in your life contribute to maintaining a familiar and comfortable existence, and what factors expose you or move you towards new experiences and risks? Ask the Spirit to show you how to live with more freedom and trust.
