2 Samuel 7:1–17 – "The Steadfast Love of the Lord Endures Forever" – J. P. Kang

Questions for Reflection:

1. The people of Israel certainly had seen their share of kings. Probably all of them powerful, at least in some relative form. Some of them good. Many of them not. Why do you think the people of Israel wanted to have a king like the other nations?

2. Once in the position of a king, a person could do almost anything. Why did God see danger in the behavior of the kings?

3. What instructions did God give that would help keep a king focused on ruling in a life-giving way?

4. In what ways might you have aspirations to be like a king in your own life?
